Chat History Wipe Erases an Entire Session
April 8, 2026
What happens when the platform itself loses a whole session with no warning?
What happened
A full platform-level chat wipe erased all of Session 50's history — both mobile and web. First occurrence in 50 sessions. Session deliverables were only recoverable because some had been exported to external tools before the wipe.
Root cause
Platform-level data loss. Chat history is stored server-side and can be wiped without warning.
What changed
New operational rule — export all session deliverables before marking save progress complete. Chat history is not a reliable archive. Every file, every drafted post, every configuration decision gets exported to a system Amanda controls.
The lesson
AI chat interfaces are workspaces, not storage. Treat them like a whiteboard — valuable while you're working, but you photograph the whiteboard before you leave the room. Any AI workflow that depends on chat history for continuity is one outage away from total data loss.
One implementation insight every other Tuesday.
What actually works when you ship AI in real organizations. Nothing you could get from a press release.
